Cruise Report
Cornish Crabber Club - Solent Rally 2017
During the evening suggestions were made for 2018, and I will certainly put them all into the mix as I plan next year’s event. We must get at least 20 boats next year. It seems to be a number we can’t quite reach. Help me reach that target!
In summary this year’s event like them all so far, was a lot of fun, and I think as all the rallies before all before with slightly “iffy” weather. But hey - that’s sailing!
I look forward to seeing everyone again next year and more besides.
For those of you reading this who own a Crabber or Shrimper and have not yet been on one of our Solent Rallies do consider joining next year. We have a lot of fun. There is no restriction on entries, and our boats in company make a fine sight as do the crews that sail them! Watch the website for 2018 dates. You are all welcome from near and far.

Post event event - On entering Chichester Harbour on Saturday morning about 2 hours after high water we spotted a sailing yacht aground off East Head. She was way off course and had clearly ignored the channel buoys. She was going to be there for a long time. It’s a warning to us all - buoys are there for a reason and despite knowing these waters well, none of us can take our eye off the ball when navigating tricky areas! Keep a good lookout!
